Nomega-Methyl-L-arginine hydrochloride is a form of L-arginine that is used in the treatment of bowel disease. It has been shown to be effective in treating severe diarrhea in humans and experimental models, as well as other conditions such as constipation, colitis, and ulcerative colitis. Nomega-Methyl-L-arginine hydrochloride works by increasing the levels of nitric oxide (NO) in the gut. Nitric oxide is able to cause cell lysis and can lead to intestinal movements via its effects on the enteric nervous system. NO also has anti-inflammatory properties that are useful for treating bowel diseases.
