N-Myristoyl-glycine is a peptide binding agent that is an acylglycine. It has been shown to be effective in the detection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and t-cell leukemia. N-Myristoyl-glycine has been used as a monoclonal antibody against HIV, with a reaction mechanism that involves the formation of an amide bond between the N-terminal amino acid and glycine on the antibody. This compound also reacts with fatty acids in urine samples, which may be due to its myristoylation. The active substance in this compound is a fatty acid chain with an acyl group at the end, which can be found in a number of other compounds such as creatine kinase.
