Product Information
- Z-N-Me-L-Nle-OHZ-N-Me-L-2-aminohexanoic acid
- Cbz-N-methyl-L-norleucine
Z-N-Me-L-norleucine is a naturally occurring amino acid that is found in the protein vulgare. It is a non-standard amino acid and an analog of leucine. The amino acid sequence of Z-N-Me-L-norleucine has been determined by gel electrophoresis and hybridization to cloned DNA sequences, revealing that this molecule has a polymorphism at codon Glu(E) and Asp(D). This polymorphism results in two alleles, Glu (G) and Asp (A), with frequencies of 33% each. There are also spontaneous mutations at codon Cys (C) and Arg (R).
