Product Information
(2-Methyl-Quinolin-4-Yl)-Methanol is an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1) that has been shown to be a potent synthetic quinoline derivative. This compound inhibits the production of MMP1 by binding to the active site on the enzyme and preventing it from cleaving its substrates. The coupling reaction with (2-methyl-quinolin-4-yl)-methanol proceeds through oxidative conditions, thus yielding an aldehyde at the end. Oxidative coupling may involve hydroxamate or alkaloid as intermediates.
