Description:
7-Methoxy-3,4-Dihydro-2H-Isoquinolin-1-One is a thalifoline alkaloid that is found in the bark of Magnolia species. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme syringaldehyde oxidase, which catalyzes the conversion of syringaldehyde into syringic acid. Syringic acid is an important precursor for the synthesis of liriodenine and aristolactam. 7-Methoxy-3,4-Dihydro-2H-Isoquinolin-1-One has also been shown to have antiinflammatory effects and can be used as a fungicide.
