4-Methyl-1H-indazole-5-boronic acid is a boronic acid that can be used for the synthesis of organic compounds. It has been shown to have two tautomeric forms, which are in equilibrium with each other. The experimental interactions between 4-methyl-1H-indazole-5-boronic acid and various molecules have been studied using computational simulations. These simulations show that this boronic acid interacts with a molecule in an orientation where the hydrogen on the α carbon is oriented toward the nitrogen atom of the molecule being studied. The vibrational and nmr spectra of 4-methyl-1H-indazole-5-boronic acid have also been determined experimentally. The magnetic properties of this compound have not yet been investigated, but it is expected that they will be similar to those exhibited by other boron containing compounds.
