1-Methyl-5-bromoindazole is a flavonoid that has been isolated from various plants. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties, as well as the ability to scavenge free radicals. The compound has also been shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation and reduce the production of reactive oxygen species in certain cell lines. 1-Methyl-5-bromoindazole is found in tea leaves and grapefruit peels, among other plant sources.
