Description:
6-Methyl-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid methyl ester is a deuterated monooxygenase inhibitor that has been synthesised and characterised. It was found to have a tetradentate structure, which means that it binds with four oxygen atoms. The synthesis of this compound was achieved by catalysing the reaction between acetaldehyde and pyridine. This product can be used in alkene modifications, bond cleavage, osmotic pumps and as an anti-cancer drug. 6-Methyl-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid methyl ester is an analogue of tamoxifen and can be used in the treatment of breast cancer.
