Product Information
- 9-Phenyl-10-Methylacridinium Perchlorate
10-Methyl-9-phenylacridinium perchlorate is a reactive matrix polymer that can be used to stabilize and enhance the transfer of anions. This polymer has a hydridic backbone, which allows it to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. 10-Methyl-9-phenylacridinium perchlorate is synthesized by reacting acetonitrile and phenylacetic acid with chloroform in the presence of a base catalyst. The resulting product has been shown to have a stabilization constant of 3.2 x 10 M at pH 7, which is greater than that of most other polymers. The mechanism of this polymer's transfer reactions are not well understood, but it is thought that they may involve the formation of ion pairs or radical cations and electron transfer between two molecules.
