Description

1-Methoxy-3-(trimethylsilyloxy)-1,3-butadiene is a diene that is used as a building block for the synthesis of polymers. The compound can be synthesized by the palladium-catalyzed coupling of two equivalents of 1,2-dibromoethane and one equivalent of 1,4-butanediol. It has high values for steric interactions and hydroxyl group intramolecular hydrogen. It also has diene receptor binding properties. This product is activated with trifluoroacetic acid and has intramolecular hydrogen bonding properties that are essential to its function in a variety of chemical reactions.
