- Benzoic acid, 3,4-difluoro-, methyl ester
- Methyl 3-Amino-4-Fluorobenzoate
Methyl 3,4-difluorobenzoate (DFRB) is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the neuraminidase enzyme in influenza viruses. The structure and mechanism of action of this molecule has been studied using a number of assays, including enzyme inhibition assays and cell culture experiments. This molecule may be used as an alternative to amantadine for the treatment of influenza A virus infections. DFRB is currently being synthesized by one group and tested against an influenza strain by another group.
