Product Information

Name:
Methyl 5-fluoro-2-hydroxybenzoate
Description:

Methyl 5-fluoro-2-hydroxybenzoate is a potent inhibitor of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) that binds to the 16-membered viral macrocycle. It is a pyrimidine derivative and an amide, which has two atropisomers. The atropisomer with the linker optimized for binding to the RSV hydrophobic pocket was found to be more potent than the wild type in vitro. This compound is an analog of ribavirin, which can be used as an antiviral agent against RSV and other pathogens.
