Description

2-Methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid (2MP) is an anticancer drug that belongs to the group of anti-tumor agents. It is a potential anti-tumor agent for pancreatic cancer and has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro, including those of panc-1 cells. 2MP has also been shown to cause cell death by interfering with the process of apoptosis. This drug inhibits the connective tissue synthesis and hydrolyzes into anthranilic acid, which may be responsible for its anticancer activity.
