Description:
Methylophiopogonone A is a cardiac drug that has been shown to improve the function of heart tissue in diabetic patients. It is also a potent inhibitor of the enzyme p-hydroxybenzoic acid and increases the levels of ophiopogonin, which is an important component for the treatment of diabetes. This drug can be extracted from Ophiopogon japonicus roots and its dry weight can be determined using a multiple-reaction monitoring technique. Methylophiopogonone A, as well as other drugs, may cause possible drug interactions when taken with acetate extract.
