Name:
Matairesinol 4'-O-b-gentiobioside
Description:

Matairesinol 4'-O-b-gentiobioside is a natural product that has been identified as a new matairesinol glycoside. This compound is found in the plant species Trachelospermum asiaticum and has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory activity. Matairesinol 4'-O-b-gentiobioside was isolated from the roots of T. asiaticum and purified by HPLC, using a sephadex LH-20 column. The compound was then identified using data analysis, including NMR and mass spectrometry. The structure was confirmed by comparison with literature data. The compound showed good results against inflammation induced by carrageenan in mice and inhibited human leukocyte elastase (HLE) activity in vitro. It also showed an inhibitory effect on prostaglandin E2 synthesis at concentrations of 1 μM or higher in human platelets stimulated with A23187 or
