Product Information
- 1H-Pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid, methyl ester
- Methyl 3-pyrrolecarboxylate
- 1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylate
Methyl 1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylate is an analog of amide and has a functional group that is bifunctional. It reacts with chloroformate to form the compound methyl 3-chloroacrylate, which can be used in the acetylation of alcohols and amines. This reaction is reversible, which means that it can also be used for the synthesis of amides. Methyl 1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylate is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, ether and benzene. This compound does not react with hydrogen chloride, but does react with acetyl chloride to form an amide. The chemical structure of this compound resembles dna duplexes, which are responsible for carrying out the transfer of genetic information from one generation to the next.
