Description:
3-methyl-3H- purin-6(9H)-one is an isomeric, geranylgeranyl, dissociates, thioxanthine. It has shown to be resistant to halides and imidazoles. The compound is reactive with alkylating agents and also reacts with aldehyde oxidase from P. aeruginosa. 3-methyl-3H- purin-6(9H)-one has been tested for its antiinflammatory effects by inhibiting the enzyme aldehyde oxidase in P. aeruginosa cells.
