Methyl 6''-Deoxy-6'-Fluoroisomaltoside is a fluorescent compound that has been used for optical measurements of the steady-state and transient fields in multidimensional rotating systems. It has been shown to be a good probe for measuring the efficiency of an assembled stator. The sectional efficiency was determined by measuring the rotational speed of a rotor, which is proportional to the induced voltage across it. This measurement was then converted into electrical power using a simulation algorithm.
