Description:
Methyl 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropyl carbonate (MTFC) is a catalyst. It has been shown to be selective for the transesterification of dialkyl carbonates with dimethyl carbonate. MTFC is also an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of methyl esters from alkoxides and dimethyl carbonate. The catalytic efficiency of MTFC is higher than that of other catalysts such as lithium aluminum hydride or sodium metal.
