Description:

Methyl 2,3,3,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-bromobutyrate is an ester with a structure similar to that of propionic acid. It is used as an intermediate in the production of fluorine compounds and has been shown to have toxic effects on the liver. Methyl 2,3,3,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-bromobutyrate has been shown to cause depression in rats at a dose of 1 g/kg. The LD50 values for acute toxicity are 25 mg/kg for mice and rats.
