1,8-Naphthalimide is a reactive compound that has been shown to have an intramolecular hydrogen bond and intermolecular hydrogen bond. 1,8-Naphthalimide is able to undergo a phase transition from solid to liquid at room temperature. It has also been shown to react with hydrochloric acid and enhance the fluorescence of probes for detecting cervical cancer. 1,8-Naphthalimide also has photochemical properties that allow it to undergo redox cycling. This compound can be used as a fluorescence probe for detecting enzyme activities and its detection sensitivity is higher than other compounds.
