4-Nitrophenyl trifluoroacetate is an activated ester that reacts with nucleophiles via a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The kinetic study of this reaction showed that the rate of the reaction depended on the concentration of the reactants and was proportional to the concentration of proton in solution.
