Description:
7-Nitro-4(3H)-quinazolinone is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the activity of the enzyme catalase. This compound has also been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of cultured human cancer cells, including those resistant to gefitinib and sorafenib. In addition, 7-Nitro-4(3H)-quinazolinone has been shown to interact with surfactant molecules, which may be due to its ability to form a covalent bond with the oxygen atom in the hydrophilic head group of surfactants.
