Product Information
- neo-Digoxin
Neodigoxin is a cardenolide derived from the plant Digitalis. It has an activated, cardenolide structure that is obtained by the reaction of specific reagents in a ternary system. The compound can be purified by column chromatography and recrystallization to produce a dry weight of over 95%. Neodigoxin has been shown to have ecologically-friendly properties by being non-polar and not readily biodegradable. It also has low toxicity due to its lack of chlorine, which often contaminates other drugs. Neodigoxin is used as an antiarrhythmic agent in patients with atrial fibrillation or atrial tachycardia.
