Neuropeptide EI is a cyclic peptide that has been shown to have receptor activity in the caudate putamen, as well as locomotor activity and metabolic rate. Neuropeptide EI has also been shown to inhibit lymphatic vessels and amide sequences in fat cells. It has been shown to have various biological functions, such as an anti-inflammatory agent, an analgesic, and a chemotherapeutic agent. It is active against cancer cells and autoimmune diseases, but is inactive against bacteria.
