2-(1-Naphthyloxy)propanoyl chloride is a racemic mixture of two enantiomers. It reacts with amines and amides to form chlorides, propionyl chloride, and other products. The kinetic data for the reaction of 2-(1-naphthyloxy)propanoyl chloride with benzamidine was determined by using quantum chemical calculations. Computational results were compared to experimental data to determine if the theoretical model was an accurate representation of reality. The results indicated that the theoretical model was an accurate representation of reality.
