Description:
1-(1-Naphthyl)-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione is a fluorescent compound that has been shown to interact with ATPase activity. It inhibits the uptake of chloride ions by cells and causes an increase in viscosity in water. 1-(1-Naphthyl)-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione can be synthesized from a number of compounds and has been used as a fluorescent probe for experimental purposes. It is soluble in organic solvents and is functionalized with various groups such as amine, hydroxyl, carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, and phosphoric acid groups. The copolymerization of this molecule provides supramolecular properties for potential applications.
