Description:

2-Nitrobenzene-1,4-diol is an organic compound with the formula HOCH2NO2. It is a yellow solid that is soluble in water, ethanol and ether. 2-Nitrobenzene-1,4-diol reacts with hydrogen fluoride to produce a polymer film containing nitro groups. This reaction mechanism can also be applied to other nitro compounds. The reaction products of this process are nitrogen atoms and a particle. The rate constant for this reaction has been shown to be second order. 2-Nitrobenzene-1,4-diol is found in fatty acids and regiospecifically reacts with human liver cells.
