Description:
6-Nitro-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-one is a synthetic retinoid that binds to the receptor for retinoic acid. 6NITDOH has been shown to be effective in reducing atrial fibrillation in animal models. The drug is metabolized by dehydration to form an inactive form and is also a skeletal myotoxin. 6NITDOH has been shown to have cytotoxic effects in cardiac cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis and induce apoptosis. 6NITDOH is a functional group that contains amines on both sides of the double bond.
