2-(4-Nitrophenyl)thiazole is a chemical compound that can be used as an oxidase inhibitor. This product is an organic solvent with a boiling point of about 190 °C at atmospheric pressure. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of xanthine oxidase and xanthine dehydrogenase, with IC50 values of 0.25 mM and 6.1 mM, respectively. 2-(4-Nitrophenyl)thiazole has also been shown to inhibit the oxidation of xanthine by alkaline xanthine oxidase in aprotic solvents.
