Description:
1-(4-Nitrophenyl)propane-1,2-dione is a carbonyl compound that can be used in the synthesis of alcohols. It has been shown to catalyze the aldol reaction with high regioselectivity and a high yield. The diastereoselectivity of 1-(4-nitrophenyl)propane-1,2-dione is also excellent, giving only one stereoisomer from each reaction.
