1-[2-(4-Nitrophenoxy)ethyl]pyrrolidine is an anti-cancer drug that belongs to the class of pyrrole compounds. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumours in a variety of animal models. 1-[2-(4-Nitrophenoxy)ethyl]pyrrolidine has also been shown to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in vitro through binding to receptors on the surface of cells. This drug inhibits signalling pathways that are involved in cellular proliferation and survival, such as extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), Akt, and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). This compound also inhibits the transcriptional activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB).
