4-(3-Nitrophenyl)pyridine is an antibacterial agent that can be used against a number of bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Mycobacterium avium complex. The structure of 4-(3-nitrophenyl)pyridine is similar to that of lercanidipine, which has been shown to have a number of therapeutic activities. Lercanidipine has been shown to have antihypertensive activity and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure. It also has analgesic and antipsychotic effects as well as anti-inflammatory properties. This means that 4-(3-nitrophenyl)pyridine may have similar effects on the body.
