2-Nitro-4-(propylthio)aniline is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water, methanol, and hydrazine. It is used as a reagent to synthesize albendazole and sodium sulfide. 2-Nitro-4-(propylthio)aniline has been used in the production of gadolinium, cyanamide, carbamate, salifying, isourea, nitrogen, formate, sodium hydroxide solution and methyl formate. The chemical reactions that take place during these processes require high temperatures.
