Product Information

Name:
n-Butylboronic acid, pinacol ester
Description:

n-Butylboronic acid, pinacol ester is a synthetic agent that is structurally similar to the natural product pinacidil. It has been shown to be an antimicrobial agent and can inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to the functional groups of their cell walls. The organic solvent used in this synthesis is aryl halide, which reacts with zirconium dichloride to form an aryl chloride. In addition, this compound has been found to have high yield and can be produced from inexpensive starting materials. The reactive nature of this compound makes it useful for microbial infections caused by mycobacteria, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex. This ligand also binds to chlorine and reacts with metallocene, which leads to carbonyl group formation.
