Description:

N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-L-valine methyl ester is a chemical compound that is used as a chiral auxiliary for the asymmetric synthesis of oxazolidinones. It is also used to produce β-amino acids, which are important in the biosynthesis of proteins. The compound has an excellent chromatographic property and can be used to separate amino acids. In the presence of magnesium, it reacts with carbamic acid to form an amide. N-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-L-valine methyl ester is synthesized by solid phase synthesis and then reacted with organic aldehydes in the presence of solvents such as chloroform or dichloromethane.
