Product Information
- 2,2-Dimethylpropyl Chlorocarbonate
Neopentyl chloroformate is a metabolite of clofibrate, an anti-diabetic drug that reduces blood glucose levels by blocking the synthesis and release of fatty acids from the liver. It is also a lipid-lowering agent that prevents the formation of triglycerides in the liver by inhibiting the enzyme lipoprotein lipase. Neopentyl chloroformate has been shown to have a hypoglycemic effect in rats with diabetes induced by streptozotocin, as well as to lower cholesterol levels. This compound may be used in pharmaceutical preparations to treat metabolic disorders such as hypercholesterolemia or hyperlipidemia.
