Description:

3-(1-Naphthalenyloxy)-1-phenyl-1-propanol (NBP) is a chemical intermediate that is used in the production of nylon 6. It undergoes a cyclohexane ring opening reaction with 3-chloropropiophenone to produce the target compound, which is then postprocessed to yield nylon 6. The optimum reaction temperature for this process is 110°C and the optimum reaction time is 4 hours.
