Description:
Nimbanal is a nimbin-based natural product that has been shown to inhibit the replication of viruses. It blocks the activity of DNA polymerase, and also inhibits the epoxidase enzyme. Nimbanal binds to the active site of the enzyme and prevents it from binding to its substrate, thus inhibiting viral replication. This product has a molecular weight of 673.81 g/mol and is soluble in water. The affinity constant for nimbin is 10-3 M.
