O-4-Nitrobenzylhydroxylamine hydrochloride (NOH) is a monoclonal antibody that reacts with tissue culture cells and immobilizes them. NOH is used as a diagnostic reagent to detect growth factor β in the human body. This agent has been shown to be effective at inhibiting the growth of certain types of cancer cells in vitro, including those that are resistant to other treatments. NOH also shows potent inhibitory activity towards the dna mutations that lead to the development of cancer. The compound may also have effects on biological function.
