4-Nitro-m-phenylene diamine sulfate (4NMPDS) is a chemical used in the screening of oxidative damage to copper and other metals. It is a liquid that can be used in the analysis of copper and other metal samples by LC-MS/MS. 4NMPDS is analyzed using inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, which gives an average concentration for the sample. This compound has been found to cause severe damage to plastics, paper, and textiles when it comes into contact with these materials.
