1-Naphthaleneboronic acid pinacol ester is a boronic ester that can be used as an operational group in organic synthesis. It has been shown to have fluorescence, which is due to the presence of radical species. This compound has been synthesized by reaction of naphthalene-1-boronic acid with pinacol. 1-Naphthaleneboronic acid pinacol ester is also a photophysical acceptor molecule and can be used for transfer reactions such as homogeneous catalysis.
