1,5-Naphthalenedisulfonic acid disodium salt is a soluble compound that can be found in dimethylformamide. It has been shown to have antibacterial properties and is used in the synthesis of clopidogrel. It has also been shown to react with hydrochloric acid and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid in experimental solubility data. 1,5-Naphthalenedisulfonic acid disodium salt is soluble in acidic solutions and its solubility increases when the pH decreases. The intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the sulfonate group and water molecules may contribute to this increased solubility.
