Product Information

Name:
Na-Boc-L-histidine methyl ester
Synonyms:
  • Boc-L-His-OMe
Description:

Na-Boc-L-histidine methyl ester is an amino acid that is used in the diagnosis of salicylaldehyde. It is synthesized by the reaction of NaOH and L-histidine methyl ester with aqueous formaldehyde. The product can be purified by extracting with ether, followed by drying and distillation. The compound has been shown to react with cisplatin to form a bioconjugate, which has been used for the detection of cancer cells using analytical high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). This compound also reacts with alkylating agents such as tetraethylthiuram disulfide to form a multinuclear complex, which may be used as a constant in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic analysis.
