4'-Nitro-biphenyl-2-ylamine is a nitro compound that has been found in the environment, as well as in food. This chemical is not mutagenic and does not cause cancer. It reacts with the amino acid tyrosine to form a dipole, which changes the parameters of translation. This isomers can cause mutations and its mutagenicity depends on the concentration. 4'-Nitro-biphenyl-2-ylamine has been shown to inhibit growth of typhimurium, but it does not inhibit the growth of rhizomes or strain.
