6-Nitroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is a crystalline solid that has been shown to have antifungal activity. It has been used as an antifungal agent against plant pathogenic fungi and anhydrous crystal form shows anti-Candida activity. 6-Nitroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine exhibits a broad spectrum of biological activities including fungicidal properties against Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, inhibition of growth of the human cancer cell line A549, and antitumor activity in mice.
