2-(4-Nitrophenyl)thiazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is an acid ethyl ester of 2-(4-nitrophenyl)thiazole-4-carboxylic acid. It is a white to off-white crystalline solid with a melting point of 108° C. 2-(4-Nitrophenyl)thiazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It also has been shown to be cytotoxic and to induce apoptosis in various cancer cell lines, such as breast, colon, prostate and leukemia cells.
