Description:

Nitro-PAPS disodium salt is a diazonium salt that is used as a chromatographic reagent. The structure of this compound consists of two nitrobenzoate groups and one PAPS group. Nitro-PAPS disodium salt has been shown to increase the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in clinical pathology studies. It also increases the levels of malic acid, which is associated with insulin resistance, in urine samples. This drug has been shown to have an effect on regression in mice with type 2 diabetes. The mechanism by which Nitro-PAPS disodium salt achieves these effects is not well understood, but it may be due to its metal ion binding ability that leads to increased chromatographic activity.
