Neopentyl Glycol Dimethacrylate (stabilized with MEHQ) is a cross-linking agent that can be used in wastewater treatment. It can be used to remove heavy metals from water, such as copper and lead. The reaction solution is heated at constant pressure, which causes the dimethacrylate to react with the hydroxyl group of metal hydroxides. This process forms an aromatic hydrocarbon and water, which can then be removed from the reaction solution by evaporation. Neopentyl Glycol Dimethacrylate (stabilized with MEHQ) is also reactive and has been shown to be effective in cell culture studies. It is a polymer film forming agent that is radiation sensitive and has been shown to have high energy efficiency.
