N-alpha-Benzoyl-DL-arginine-beta-naphthylamide hydrochloride is a substrate for the enzyme trypsin. It has been shown to be a substrate for trypsin and fibrinolysin, and it is likely that this compound has a role in the biochemical processes of protein breakdown. N-alpha-Benzoyl-DL-arginine-beta-naphthylamide hydrochloride is also an amide with a methyl ester group. It has been synthesized from DL-arginine and beta naphthol. The chemical formula is C14H19N3O2•HCl, which has two exponentials.
